Sophie WARAWA Obituary
May 24, 1922 – February 9, 2018
On February 9, 2018, Mrs. Sophie Warawa passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years.
Sophie is survived by one daughter and two sons, Amelia (Nick) Danilak, Daniel (Delores) and Wayne (Pat); six grandchildren, Kim (Eugene) Wilk, Dean (Natalie) Danilak, Cory (Melanie) Danilak, Ryan (Denise) Warawa, Colins (Lynnette) Warawa, Tami Warawa; granddaughter-in-law, Tina Warawa; twelve great-grandchildren, Lee and Shaelyn Wilk, Bohdan, Kalyna, Lukian, and Damian Danilak, Riley, Madison, Ashlee, Brandon, Justin and Colby Warawa; sister, Olga Danchuk; and sister-in-law, Rose (John) Mazur. Predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 2007; grandsons, Quentin and Jeff Warawa; great- granddaughter, Kelly Wilk; parents, Andrew and Ann Zaparyniuk; four brothers; and one sister.
Sincerest gratitude is extended to the staff at Shepherd's Care Kensington for their loving care shown towards Mom and her family during the past four years.
Prayer Service Wednesday, February 14 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Josaphat Cathedral, 10825 – 97 Street, Edmonton.
Funeral Service Thursday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat Cathedral. Cathedral Clergy officiating with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of tributes, donations may be made directly to the St. Josaphat Cathedral Restoration Fund or to Shepherd's Care Kensington Long Term Care, 12603 – 135 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5L 5B2.

Dear Warawa family
So sorry to hear of Sophie's passing. She is one of the very few left from our parents generation. Frank and Sophie were great friends of my mom and dad .. Joe and Elsie Gulevich. The trips and parties they enjoyed. May you treasure their memories always.

Amelia...NIck and the Warawa family...our parents were very close...in so many ways....years have passed...however...nothing has changed...as a side note..what a pleasure it was to see your mom and dad in Reno...just in passing...they worked very hard...endured hardships...however...enjoyed life...Sophie....a fun lady...full of life...may God Bless her soul and join your father and other very close family.

Frank and Sophie were our neighbors in Mundare and I have known her my whole life. I am so sad to hear of her passing. Another bright light gone out of our lives as there was no one sweeter or kinder than Sophie.
