Sotirios Xenakis Obituary
Sotirios proudly served as an airplane mechanic in the Hellenic Air Force in Athens, where he contributed his skills and discipline to the service of his homeland. His early years in Greece shaped a strong foundation of resilience and commitment that he carried with him throughout his life.
For 54 years, Sotirios was the devoted husband of Joan (Psichogios). Together they built a loving home filled with warmth and tradition. He was a loving father to Jeffrey and his wife, Angela (Sodano) of Watertown. Known affectionately as "Papou", Sotirios adored his grandchildren Nico, Johnny, and Nina, who brought immense joy to his later years.
He also embraced his role as stepfather to George Sicalis and Helene Georgakopoulos with care and kindness. His extended family remained close to his heart; he is survived by his brother Nikiforos and his wife Sofia, as well as his sister-in-law Phophi-all residing in Athens, Greece. His legacy continues through his nieces, great-nieces, a great-nephew, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
Sotirios was predeceased by his beloved parents Zafirios and Maria Xenakis; siblings Evelyn; Michael and his wife Georgia; Elias; Anna; and Paul. Their memories remained ever-present in his heart.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sotirios' name may be made to the Archangels Greek Orthodox Church of Watertown or to Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Archangels Greek Orthodox Church 25 Bigelow Ave, Watertown, MA. A Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown, MA.

Papou, I will never forget all the good times we had. I´ll never forget our endless laughs, our trips to the mall and for ice cream after dinner, and bringing Yiayia a butter pecan ice cream, going for walks together, playing at the park, or our dinners out every weekend at the Cheesecake Factory. I´ll never forget your hugs and your warm nature. Thank you for being you. I love you, always! May your memory be eternal and I will miss you so much. Love, Ninaki
