Stanley Drucker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 30, 2023.
Stanley Harold Drucker, known to his loved ones as Stan, passed away on July 28, 2023, at the age of 89 in White Plains, NY. Born on November 9, 1933, in the Bronx, NY, Stan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Stan is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Drucker, and his children, Mark Drucker, Karen Drucker, Richard Drucker, John Lieberman, and Deb Neilsen and her husband Jim. He also leaves behind his three grandchildren, Ally Neilsen, Rachel Neilsen and her fiance Dan Peck, and Joshua Drucker. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cindy Drucker, as well as his mother, Helen Drucker, and his father, Murray Drucker. He was lovingly cared for by his health care aide, Grace Mensah, during his illness. She cared for him morning and night, never leaving his side.

Stan was married to his wife, Judy, for 45 years. He loved biking, sailing and playing a good game of tennis. Stan was also a music lover, playing the clarinet and piano. He was a dear friend to many people, and dogs, who he loved dearly. He had a courageous acceptance of his long illness. One of Stan's greatest joys in life was supporting his grandchildren in everything they did.

Stan pursued his higher education at Lehigh University, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Radio Operator for two years. Stan was a dedicated business man, owning 2 sporting goods stores and a uniform company, Murray's Uniform.

Stan will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.

I met Stan as a customer in his store in the mid-70s.

In 1978 he hired me as a salesman. He gradually extended my responsibilities to the register and receiving.

Stan always had a concern for his high school and college employees; he cared about our school work and futures.

I still laugh when I remember how he fired me (twice, I think) only to rehire me pretty quickly. I could be a bit of a challenge in those years.

My most recent memories of Stan involved diners. I was thrilled to introduce my wife to Stan and Judy at a Mamaroneck diner. A few years later Nell and I met Stan and Judy at a diner, and I discovered upon asking for the check that Stan had covered our bill.

My last memory of Stan always brings me joy.

Family and friends of Stan-
I just received my Lehigh alumni magazine and I was reminded of Stan (did an internet search) and came upon the sad news of his passing - so recent. My first "real" job was at Murray's on Central avenue. I couldn't have had a better introduction to the world of business. I still tell my friends what a generous and kind man Stan was to his employees and customers. When I applied for the job the rule was women at the register and men worked the floor. I asked to work the floor and he was open to my thoughts - I got the job! (it also helped that I told him I planned to go to Lehigh). I didn't just learn how to sell jeans and camp clothes, I also learned the right way to treat people in a variety of circumstances. I know he will be missed by many, may his memory be for a blessing.

We called him "Cousin Stan" but he was more like an Uncle all these years. Making Cousin Stan laugh was always a goal of mine whenever I saw him and it was always fun hanging out with Stan and Judy when we lived in Westchester. Stan will be greatly missed but his memory will always be a blessing!
