Born: July 20, 1929; in Somerville, MaineDied: Feb. 11, 2007; in ElginHe loved the Cubs and Bears and enjoyed working in his garden of flowersLAKE IN THE HILLS - Stanley E. Hisler Sr., 77, of Lake in the Hills, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.He was born July 20, 1929, in Somerville, Maine, to Randolf and Eleanor (Falconie) Hisler. On Oct. 16, 1952, he married Donna Krueger in Hollowell, Maine.He loved the Cubs and Bears and enjoyed working in his garden of flowers.Survivors include his wife, Donna Hisler of Lake in the Hills; three children, Diane (Joseph) Peplowski of McHenry, Colleen (Michael) Vivona of McHenry and Stanley E. (Julia) Hisler Jr. of Johnsburg; his grandchildren, Joseph (Jana) Peplowski, Christopher (Renee) Cifonie, Steven (Jennifer) Peplowski, Nicole Hisler, Abby Hisler and Emily Hisler; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Peplowski; and his brothers and sisters, Andrew (Joyce) Hisler of Somerville, Mary (Cobby) Cobbs of Augusta, Maine, Albert (Cheryl) Routh Jr. of Homosassa, Fla., and Eleanor (Routh) Crandall of Augusta.He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; his brother, Leon Hisler; his sister, Beatrice Routh; and his nephew, Leon Routh.The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, with the funeral service at 7:30 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry.Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in Woodland Cemetery in McHenry.For information, call the funeral home at (815) 385-0063.Sign the guest book at www.
