Stanley Houston Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 29, 2024.
Stanley Scott "Monk" Houston passed away on July 21, 2024, at the age of 64 in Memphis, TN. He was a cherished individual known for his deep love for Elvis Presley, which was reflected in his extensive collection of Elvis memorabilia.

Monk was born to Linda and Haywood Houston and grew up in a lively household with his siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Larry Houston, William Houston, and Teresa Delashmit. He is survived by his brother, Richard Doyle Houston, and a host of nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly.

Monk's passion for Elvis not only defined his collecting but also painted a picture of a man who cherished cultural icons and the joy they could bring into life. His home was a treasure trove of unique finds from various eras of Elvis's career, each piece with its own story and significance.

The family has entrusted Gillespie Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS, with the arrangements. Monk's life and passions will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and through the cherished collection he leaves behind.
