Madera, California - We announce that our beloved family patriarch Dr. Stephan C. Menyhay M.D. PhD. peacefully passed away at home, age 87, on Nov 15, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents Karoly and Rozalia Menyhay, brother Dr. Prof. Emmerich Ferenc Menyhay and infant sister Elizabeth.
He was born on October 18, 1934 in Budapest, Hungary. He was educated and attained his medical degree in Hungary and was a pivotal figure in the student uprising during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Fleeing communism he immigrated to America in 1956 seeking democracy and freedom that the United
States of America offered. While raising a family he continued his passion for education, his medical practice, as well as serving in the Air Force Reserve as a Flight Surgeon and pilot. He was a physician, educator, researcher, Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Bioanalyst. He was an avid reader, with a passion for science, science-fiction and nature. He was a great advisor and counselor and was loved by many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lourdes, his children Steve/Pamela, William/Laura, Carolyn/Mikel Perez, Stephanie, Emmerich (Imre) , Istvan , Kristofer and Sandor, 16 grandchildren; sister-in-law Ilona, a niece and nephew in Austria.
