Stephanie Leigh Proffitt, 21, of 3168 Greenbriar Rd., Utica, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2006, at her home. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and was the Manager & Investigator for the Daviess Co. Humane Society. She was a graduate of Apollo High School and had attended the Owensboro Community College. She had a great love for and cared for and trained all types of animals.

Surviving is her parents, Pam & Glen Douglas of Owensboro, her grandparents, Kenneth & Juanita Proffitt Shirley Sowders, and Roy Douglas, all of Owensboro, and a great grandmother, Wreatha Proffitt of Caneyville, a sister, Samantha Douglas of Owensboro, and two brothers, Jimmy Sapp II and Nick Sapp, both of Owensboro, her biological father, Jimmy Sapp of Owensboro, and her five beloved dogs, Brutus, Whiskey, Alex, Jelly Bean, and Skeeter.

Services will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 4, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Daviess Co. Humane Society, P. O. Box 1075, Owensboro, Ky. 42302.
