Stephen Belz

Stephen Belz, age 71, of Vernon, CT went home to be with Jesus, August 10th, 2024 in his home with his family close by. He was born to Robert and Erma Belz and grew up near St. Paul, Minnesota. He moved to Alaska to attend college, and spent 30 years living there before moving to Connecticut. In Alaska he made friends, built a business and a house, met and married his wife, Karla, and lived there with his family for many happy years. He moved to Connecticut with his wife and daughter, and found a new community, making strong connections with his church family at River of Life in Tolland. He connected with other devout men of God, such as his close friend Doug Kobs (a fellow Minnesota boy) who stood by his side and supported him throughout his illness. Steve leaves behind his wife Karla of 43 years (who cared for him with steadfast devotion and unwavering love), daughter Brittney (Marc Andryuk), grandchildren Cirdan and Ryla, sisters Judith Steltzner (Belz), Nadine "Becky" Belz-Pihala and two nieces as well as great-nephews. We wish to acknowledge all the support and care we received from our amazing church family and the Visiting Nurses of Vernon, who gave him such good care and comfort.
