Stephen Carey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 25, 2024.
In Loving Memory of Stephen R. Carey

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Stephen R. Carey on March 18th, 2024, at the tender age of 40. Stephen was a beloved husband and father, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend. His departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, yet his spirit will forever resonate in our hearts.

Stephen was a man of boundless creativity. His love for the arts, particularly music and visual expression, was evident in every facet of his life. Stephen shared his profound appreciation for melody and artistry with everyone he encountered especially his sons, Logan and Collin.

For many years Stephen valiantly fought Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a rare and incurable connective tissue disease. EDS is a painful disease that deprives one of mobility, as well as spinal and joint stability. In lieu of flowers, to honor Stephen's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Ehlers-Danlos Society.

Contributions can be sent to:

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Sara (Daley) and sons, Logan and Collin, his devoted parents, Maureen (Collins) and Robert Carey, his sisters, Shannon Fultz (Brad) and Colleen Huff (Gary), his caring in-laws, Susan and William Daley, his sister-in-law, Ann, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Forever in our hearts, forever loved.

Stephen was a funny kid when Colleen and I hung out in HS. I always loved having him around. He wasn't the pesky brother like I had, well, at least not towards me. :)

I am very sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with the Carey and Daley families.

Sincerely,
Megan (Clancy) Shafer

I have a google alert for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome because I have it and want to stay up to date on new articles and research. Today it gave me a link to this obituary. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Stephen and my thoughts are with you. He seems like a wonderful person. Love, from Sweden
