Kim, we are so shocked and sorry to hear of Steve's passing. We have such memories from those days with Baxter as a puppy in Calgary, to packing up and moving to Saskatoon, to your present house and our past summer visit- we will miss his teasing, his knowledge of technology and his love of football! We will always remember him. You stay strong...we love you, Kim, Rob and Ivan

Steve, though you may have left England you certainly left your heart here in Birmingham. You were always full of devilment which made you more loveable. I was pleased to see how happy you and Kim were together and how close we got over the past few years. You are both loved very much. Our thoughts will always be with you Kim. Please make sure you keep in touch.
Love always

The first time I met Steve, he came out with one of his many funny jokes. I looked forward every day to go to work and talk with Steve. My prayers go out to the Smith family. He is in a better place and watching over his family. Steve Rest in Peace.

Steve we had not seen you for years and then you and Kim appearing back in our lives was wonderful, the time we shared certainly brought memories to treasure. I will miss our talks about football and the endless Villa/Blues banter. Kim, Julia and I are thinking of you and our hearts will be with you always. From a Villain to a true Bluenose, we will all miss you; the world is defiantly a darker place without you and your humour.

Kim our hearts and thoughts are with you. There are many a happy memory I have in my heart of Steve, from childhood days to quite recently when you both visied Auntie Ivy, Sadie pinched your pork pie of your plate, my friend Joan and you teased each other over who was the best football team your's or hers,I think Joans team won that night, oh how we all laughed that day. It is heart warming to see how much you were loved Steve, you have left a huge hole in a lot of peoples lives, but you are only a thought away. When we are out in the mountains of Snowdonia in amongst the wonderful creation which surrounds me I know that you are part of it and will be one of those rays of sunshine which shine from infinity to Earth. God Bless you Steve. Be at peace,You will never be forgotten. Love you, and Love Kim.

My heartfelt sympathies to the Smith family at this time of such great sorrow and loss. I worked with Steve during my time at Wolseley and always looked forward to the conversations as Steve always made me laugh with his unsurpassed sense of humor rivalled by few. There is no doubt that Steve will be missed by many as he left an impact on us all, and for that we are grateful.
Peace be with you my friend.
