The funeral service for Sterling Duane Kyllo will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 First St. S.E. in Hayfield, with the Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.

Sterling Duane Kyllo, 86, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.

Sterling was born April 28, 1928, the son of Otto and Luella (Haukom) Kyllo in Dodge County. Sterling attended school in Vernon Township and Hayfield High School. He was united in marriage to Betty Thompson on Feb. 14, 1948, in Hayfield. Sterling worked at Hormel for 35 years, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield.

He enjoyed his family, camping and cars.

Sterling is survived by his children, Mike and Sheila Kyllo, Hayfield; Jim and Denise Kyllo, Hayfield; Pete and Julie Kyllo, Hayfield; and Mary Jane and Mark Pierson, Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren, Cory and Dawn (Boelter) Kyllo; Melissa (Kyllo) and Kent Dudycha; Rebecca (Kyllo) and Jacob Dahle; Megan (Kyllo) and Paul Johnson; Leah (Kyllo) and Brian Beyer; Jenny (Peterson) and Keith Framsted; Lindsay (fiance, Brandon Hanson) Kyllo and Jessica Kyllo; Matthew (fiance, Kelsey Johnson) Pierson; and Mikaela Pierson; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice (James) Gronseth, Kasson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty in 2012; sister, Lorraine Moen, and infant sister, Pauline.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second St. N.W. in Hayfield, and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
