STEVE HENN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2011.

Steve Henn, better known to friends as Toon, passed away on September 11, 2011, at Kennewick General Hospital. He was born July 23, 1942, in Piqua, Ohio.

In the early '70s, Toon moved to Huntington Beach and Mira Loma, California, where he made his trademark in painting, pin striping and lettering. He painted his incredible talent on a variety of boats, motorcycles, cars, and vans. In 1976, he relocated his family to Kennewick, Washington, and continued on with his amazing talent. Enjoying Self-Employment, he made the decision to switch "employers" and went to work as a sign painter for Hanford until retirement.

Steve is survived by his first wife, Sandy (Jon) Miller, and their daughters, Torey (Paul) Cotta of Ellensburg; Wendy (Chad) Morby of Kennewick; grandchildren, Joseph, Gunnar, Jake Grace. He was preceded in death by his son Jim in 2007, and his second wife, Suzi Starr-Henn in 2007. Survivors also include his mother, Esther Henn, sisters Judy Batson and Kathy (Phil) Chokreff, and brother Chris Henn, all four reside in Piqua, Ohio.

Dad will always have a place in many hearts due to his fun and comic nature. He was the ultimate "Good Time Charlie." Whether playing horseshoes, shooting guns, or socializing in the shop, he made amazing memories for us to last a lifetime.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 24th, 1:00pm-4:00pm at his last watering hole. Toon ain't it.

One of the good guys, sorry to hear about his loss. We shared plenty of laughs at K Basins. Toon was a true gearhead, we'd talk hotrods and Harleys, flamejobs and low riders, he loved it all, a true keeper of the flame. He could never pronounce my last name he'd call me "in-a-hose-skins", I'd call him "toon-skins"....... Rest in Peace.....Lord Bless.

Toon was a very talented sign painter for many years at Hanford and graphic design artist. I will miss the sound of his voice inviting me to a 'stress management' meeting. Rest in peace Tooner.
