PUSKAR STEVE B.
79, of Cheswick, passed away at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Brackenridge after a brief illness. He was born in Curtisville on August 15, 1933 to the late John and Mary Puskar and was a lifelong resident of the Valley. He attended West Deer High School. Steve served his country in The United States Marines Corps. And was a Korean War Veteren. He graduated both the Pittsburgh Barber School and the Connolly Technical Institute. He was a barber as well as a brick layer before working as a custodian for the St. Alphonsus parish and School and later The Allegheny Valley School District where he eventually retired. Steve enjoyed gardening, woodworking and doing home improvements. Survivors include: daughter, Donna (Gary) Kunsa of Cheswick; son, Stephen Puskar of Cheswick, son, Erik (Melissa) Puskar of Murrysville; five grandchildren, Emma Rose, Elizabeth Anne Puskar, Tyler Scott Stiener, all of Cheswick, Sadie, Elise, Sabrina Leigh Puskar of Murrysville; and his pet dog, Zaina. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Patricia; three brothers; three sisters; and one granddaughter, Julie Ann Kunsa. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. (today) Sunday at THE CHARELES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pgh. St. with Christian Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church with the Rev. Kenneth Kezmarsky officiating and burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to The St. Alphonsus Memorial Fund, 750 Pgh. St., Springdale.
