Steven Amdahl Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 30, 2024.
Steven Kenneth Amdahl, born on November 11, 1958, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, at his home in Wyndmere, North Dakota, just shy of his 66th birthday.

Growing up in Spring Lake Park, Steve discovered his love for cooking, a passion that would define his career for years to come. He spent many years as a dedicated cook in various local restaurants before operating a restaurant of his own, Bonnie's Cafe in Coon Rapids. The cafe became a beloved gathering spot, where Steve's infectious laughter and welcoming nature were as much a part of the experience as the delicious meals he prepared.

In the early 2000's, Steve created a home in the small, close knit community of Wyndmere, ND. Steve made more connections while working in manufacturing at WCCO, Inc. for 17 years, before his retirement in 2020.

Steve found joy in fishing, playing the guitar, reading and shooting. His quick wit and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him, leaving a lasting impression on his community.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Gloria Amdahl, his brother, Mike Amdahl, and his youngest child, Jacob Amdahl. He is survived by his siblings, Deb (Ron) Carr of Monticello, Kevin Amdahl of Wyndmere, ND, and Michelle (Steve) Brama of Blaine. He leaves behind his children, Keane Amdahl of Minneapolis, Laura (Lee) Porwoll of Waite Park, and his only grandchild, Harrison. His best friend, Michelle Bliss, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, also mourn his passing.

A burial will take place at Morningside Cemetery in Coon Rapids at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 6th, followed by a gathering and lunch at Sunset Grill in Spring Lake Park from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Steve's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Although I haven´t seen my cousin Steve in a long time, I have many great memories staying at his house on Able Street in Blaine while growing up. As teens, we went to dances at St Tim´s and had such fun times listening to the music of the day. Him as a "city kid" and me as a "country bumpkin." So many great memories also made at Grandma and Grandpa Thomas´ house. RIP Steve.

Steve is my uncle he would tell me stories about my dad to me because my dad passed away when I was young. Steve was always there for you when you needed him . When I left my ex husband the first time I went right to my uncle Steve house. Told him I did it I´m free . I came out of a domestic marriage and Steve was right there for me he´s always there . He´s most loving and caring person you could ever meet with a mouth like a sailor lol and his laugh is unforgettable I can still hear him laughing in my head . Steve is more than an uncle to me he was like a father to me as well . When you´re up there please give my dad and mom a hug for me. I miss you love your niece Heather.
