He was the husband of Cheryl Ann (Troxel) Stricker, to whom he was married October 1, 1983.
Born March 29, 1956, in West Reading, he was a son of Gloria Mae (Bauder) Stricker, of Shillington, and the late Richard Donald Stricker.
Steve was a 1975 graduate of Oley Valley High School.
He was employed as a security guard with Security Guards Inc., Wyomissing, for 25 years, last working August of 2016.
Steve served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
Steve was a volunteer with Oley Fire Company for 35 years, volunteering the first 25 years as a firefighter and the last ten years as a fire cop.
A racing fan, he enjoyed NASCAR and loved watching television.
Also surviving is his daughter, Stephanie L. Stricker, fiancée of Tony Crespo of West Lawn and his three grandchildren, Seth L., Tyler and Ian.
Also surviving are his four siblings: Mary Ann, widow of Robert W. Levan Jr., of Douglassville; Ruthy E., wife of Allen G. Heydt, of Bechtelsville; Dennis W., husband of Cheryl M. Stricker, of Shillington; and Joan S. Stricker, of Milford, Texas.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 and Wednesday morning from 10-11, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Zion-Spies Lutheran Church, 312 Spies Church Road, Reading, PA 19606 and/or Oley Volunteer Fire Company, 477 Main Street, Oley, PA 19547.
