Stewart Bradley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 17, 2003.
BRADLEY - Mr. Stewart "Stew" Bradley, aged 75, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 15, 2003. Stew proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy following World War II. He met his wife, the former Jacqueline Flora, when she was 13 and he was 17. He was sure he was going to marry her one day and on October 13, 1949, he did. In 1951 he accepted Christ as his Savior and in recent years he and Jackie have attended Calvary Church. Not only did Stew love the Lord, but also his family. Stew was an avid reader of history and he also enjoyed watching the history channel. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, James S. and Abigail Bradley and Howard C. and Renae Bradley, all of Grand Rapids; his grandchildren, Jayme L. and Thomas Holt, and Nicole M. Bradley; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Ethan and Nicholas Holt, who was born on Monday, December 15, 2003. "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; Blessed be the name of the Lord." Stew is also survived by his brother, Butch and Karen Silva of Oxford, FL; in-laws, Shirley and Donald Buzalski of Pierson and Judy and John Benson of Grand Rapids; nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his daughter, Bonnie Sue, in 1951. The service of Praise and Thanksgiving to God for the salvation provided through Jesus Christ for Stew will be Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Calvary Church Chapel, with Pastor Josh Mateer officiating. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider VanAndel Research Institute for cancer research, 333 Bostwick Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Relatives and friends may celebrate Stew's life with his family from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. The Pederson Funeral Home, Rockford
