Dr. Surinder Suri, MD, 70 of Teaneck, NJ passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Born and raised in India she immigrated to the United States in 1975, settling in Teaneck 41 years ago. She was a member of the Glen Rock Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara in Glen Rock, NJ. A dedicated physician who specialized in anesthesia for 40 years, she was employed at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY and most recently East Tremont Medical Center in the Bronx, NY.

As the pillar of her family, Dr. Suri worked tirelessly and selflessly to ensure each person could achieve their dreams as the best version of themselves, and live out their passions with boundless joy. She enjoyed singing classical Hindi and Punjabi songs and often acted as the lively jukebox at any family gatherings. She paved the way for her family with bravery and an endless determination to overcome any challenge. Her unwavering devotion to those around her was fierce and without parallel; everyone she met has been forever changed by her soul's fire.

Devoted daughter of Jit Kaur and the late Mohan Singh. Beloved wife of Paramjit Suri. Loving and devoted mother of Karen Suri, Rajvinder Marwah and husband Jaspreet Dhadli, and Rita Suri. Dear sister of Harbans Kaur and husband Prakash Matharu, Tarlochan Kaur, Balbir Singh and wife Jasvir Marwah and the late Ajayab Singh Marwah. Caring aunt of Simran Matharu and husband Nikhil Patel, Ajit Matharu, Sukhman Marwah, and Veer Marwah. Her spirit will always be honored by all who felt her fire. She will be endlessly missed.
