Susan Diane Ceccanti

Susan Ceccanti, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 20 at the age of 84. She was surrounded by family and love in her final moments, just as she had surrounded so many with her love throughout her life.

Born on June 5, 1940 in Castro Valley, Susan lived a life rooted in kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, creating a home filled with warmth, compassion, and laughter. Her gentle wisdom, unwavering support, and thoughtful presence were a constant source of comfort to all who knew her.

Susan was a woman of grace and integrity. She had a deep appreciation for life's simple joys - a cup of coffee, a good book, a meaningful conversation, and time spent with loved ones. Her resilience in the face of hardship, her ability to find light in dark times, and her deep empathy made her a beacon for those around her.

She is survived by her children David (Donna), Stephen (Heather) and Karalynn, her grandchildren Justin (Ashley), Jillian and Gianna, great-grandchildren Angelina, Jaxon, and Avery, her brother Bruce, and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Walt and Mildred Meinert and her husband of almost 60 years, Alan Ceccanti.

A memorial service will be held on June 28th at Faith Lutheran Church in Castro Valley at 11 am, where friends and family will gather to celebrate her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to The Parkinson's Foundation (parkinson.org) or your local animal shelter.

Susan's legacy lives on in the lives she touched - in the kindness she showed, the values she lived by, and the love she gave so freely.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
