Susan Church Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 12, 2023.
Susan Marie Evans-Church, known to her loved ones as Susie, passed away on December 6, 2023, in Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of 67. She was born on February 4, 1956, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Bob Evans and Ruth Rogers-Evans.

Susie had a fulfilling career working in various food establishments around Sioux City. She dedicated her time and skills at Red Onion, Hardies, and the Economy Market. In the 1980s, Susie and her late husband, Bob, operated a ceramics and gift shop called the "Sand Castel" in the Greenville area. Bob passed away in 2010.

Despite facing health challenges, Susie remained resilient. In 2013, she received a kidney and liver transplant at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, which granted her 13 more years of life to cherish with her loved ones.

Susie will be deeply missed by her son, Corey Robert Church, her sister, Jeri Dillavou, her brother, Mike Evans, her partner "Grizz" Richard Klameth and her little dog, Dottie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Evans, her step-father, Don Perley, her mother, Ruth Rogers-Evans-Perley, her sisters Sandy Evans and Margie Ehlers, her brother-in-law, Larry Ehlers, and her husband, Bob Church.

The funeral service for Susie will be arranged by Waterbury Funeral Home, located in Seargent Bluff, IA.

Susie's memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
