Susan Noel Harris

Obituary:

Susan Noel Harris (née Coffey), a loving mother and grandmother passed away on March 10, 2024, in Issaquah, WA at the age of 85.

Born on December 25, 1938 in Chicago, IL, Susan' world revolved around her children and grandchildren and, in later years her two beloved dogs, Dixie and Sunny.

Susan was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi sorority while attending the University of Kansas, graduating with a teaching degree. She taught in Virginia and Washington state before dedicating herself full-time to her family. After her children were grown, she went back to work and worked various office jobs in and around Seattle, far past retirement age. Industrious and hardworking were two of her most prominent traits in her mid-life.

A member of the Mayflower Society, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Jr Women's League, Susan had a rich family history and a dedication to her community. She dedicated hours volunteering at Food Banks and always enjoyed helping others. A devout Christian, she strove to live her faith through daily prayer and donating to a variety of organizations and causes.

She is survived by her children Jennifer Harris, Janet Schneider (Travis), David Harris, grandchildren Mason Schneider, Lindsey Schneider, and Noel Harris-O'Mahony, as well as Noel's father and Susan's good friend, Kieran O'Mahony. Susan was preceded in death by her mother Helen Coffey, father Charles Coffey, and brother Charles "Chuck" Coffey.

Susan also had many dear friends including her neighbors, the Burles family, who provided immeasurable support both to Susan during her illness and to the family after her passing. Special friends Barbara Lein and Sue Moreno were also of great comfort to Susan and her family during her extended illness and beyond. We are forever grateful for your prayers, your kindness and your compassionate hearts.

A celebration of life for Susan Noel Harris will be hosted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank in Issaquah, WA.
