Susan Christine LeathermanNov. 15, 1966 — July 1, 2009Susan Christine Leatherman, 42, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Duncan Regional Medical Center, Duncan, OK.She was born Nov. 15, 1966, in Garden City, Kan., daughter of Kenneth C. and Carol Jean Coble Ingels.In 1985, she graduated from Hill City High School in Hill City, Kan.On Sept. 18, 1999, she married Richard A. Leatherman in Liberal, Kan. He died Feb. 4, 2000.She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She did beautiful craft work and enjoyed decorating her daughter's dance costumes.She is survived by a daughter, Faith Christine Leatherman of Duncan; mother and step-father: Carol and Larry Benedick of Duncan; father and step-mother: Kenneth C. and Mary Beth Ingels of Malvern, Iowa; two step-sons: Linden Leatherman of Duncan, and Corby Williamson of Colorado; a brother, Robert Ingels of McCook, Neb.; a sister, Sherry Neifert of Duncan; two step-brothers: William Ingels of Malvern, and Kendall Benedick of High Ranch, Colo.; three step-sisters: Joselynn Ingels of Malvern, Vickie Schmidt of Gillette, Wyo., and Nicki Toth of Upton, Wyo.; two nieces: Karrie Neifert of Lawton, and Shannon Neifert of Duncan; two great nieces: Janila Torkelson and Nichole Leatherman of Duncan; mother-in-law, Betty Leatherman of South Carolina; sisters-in-law: Carrell Leatherman Davidson and Bobbie Leatherman Goodman; brothers-in-law: Marvin Leatherman and James Leatherman.She is preceded in death by her grandparents.A Celebration of Life will be 4 pm Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Duncan with pastor Clif Cummings presiding. Graveside services were Friday in Liberal Cemetery in Liberal, Kan.Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan C. Leatherman Memorial Fund in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brennemanfuneralhome.com.
