Susan Horne Logan

Susan Horne Logan, Ph.D., of Johnson City, Tennessee, died October 16, 2022, at the age of 95 years. Dr. Logan was born April 14, 1927, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She loved gardening and growing beautiful flowers from dahlias, day lilies, African violets and orchids to local native beauties. She had the greenest of thumbs! She also had a deep love of reading and the learning afforded by education. Susan graduated from both the University of Georgia (Undergraduate, Masters) and Florida State University (Ph.D.). She spent several decades teaching English at Appalachian State University. Education was a central core of her life.

Dr. Logan is survived by daughter Clara Logan Diaz of St. Augustine, Florida. She was blessed to also have three granddaughters, Alicia Alina Diaz, Lilia Lenora Diaz Pino, and Sara Susanna Diaz Bruce. Eight great grandchildren are part of her family: Alina Cophine Sullivan - 19, Perry Gisela Sullivan - 15, Caelo Malinda Bruce - 14, Leonardo Sebastian Pino - 13, Aella Jolene Bruce- 10, Neme Adalyne Bruce - 10, Thomas Alexander Pino - 10, and Iver Joseph Bruce - 6.
