Suzanne Langford Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 4 to Feb. 5, 2010.
Suzanne R. (Purdy) Langford May 10, 1925- January 11, 2010 Suzanne was born in Fresno, CA to John and Zada Purdy. Growing up in Winslow, AZ, Suzie graduated from the University of Arizona in 1947 with a degree in Art Education. Her first job was at Yuma High School as an art teacher. In Yuma she met husband Cecil Langford, and they married in 1950. Cecil's career took the family overseas from 1957 to 1968, living in Japan, Greece and Thailand. They finally settled in Lakewood, CO, where Suzie lived for 40 years. She continued to travel the world after Cecil's death in 1981, as well as regularly visiting family throughout the U.S. Suzanne was a gracious, joyful person; her very presence helped put people at ease. She has been an active member of Bear Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church since 1968. Suzie was also a 60-year member of PEO, chapter EJ. She moved to Grand Junction in 2008 to be closer to son Peter and family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; niece, Kim, and grandson, Christopher. Suzanne is survived by her sister, Rosemary (Terry) Vaughan of Arizona; daughter, Rebel Muth of Denver, and son, Peter (Kathy) Langford of Grand Junction. Also remaining are a dear circle of first cousins, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Services to celebrate her life have been held at Bear Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Lakewood, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Grand Villa Assisted Living Community, 1501 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, CO, 81502.

Your Mom was one of the nicest people I've ever known. There are many examples I could use but I'll always remember how nice she was when we visited you at the Bear Creek H.S. reunions.
