It is with great sadness that we announce his passing on Monday, February 10, 2014, at the age of ninety- three. Beloved husband of the late Florence Pollack for sixty-seven years. Devoted and much loved father and father-in- law of Nancy Pedvis Strohl, Dr. Anita Pedvis and Dr. Marven Leftick, Lloyd and Sally Pedvis. Cherished grandfather of Debra Strohl and Alexandre Denault, Hilary Leftick and Drew Malamud, Paula and Andrew McKeigan, Melanie and Justin Lacob. Very proud great-grandfather of Benjamin James McKeigan, and Florence Sydney Malamud. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Rita and the late Otto Steinberg, Leonard and Carol Pedvis, Maxine and Harry Walker; and brother-in-law of Connie and the late Charles Pollack, the late Samuel Pollack, the late Isadore and the late Rozalie Pollack. He will be sadly missed by all of his nieces, nephews, friends, and former patients. The family would like to thank all of his doctors as well as his wonderful caregivers Cecile, Renee, Ruth, Fatima, Susan and Rosemary, among others, for their care and devotion to both Sydney and Florence. Special thanks to the caring staff of the Waldorf. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, February 13 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El Beth Sholom Congregation Section, Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 chemin de la Forêt. Shiva at The Waldorf, 7400 Côte-Saint-Luc Rd., from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. through Sunday evening.
