Tammy Marie Papp

Tammy Marie (Hubbell) Papp was called back to be with the Lord midday, Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Anyone who had the pleasure of making Tammy's acquaintance knew there was something truly special about her. We were reminded of that just before we returned to Elk Rapids from our home in Palm Desert, CA. One of the chemotherapy volunteers told us that she would be eagerly awaiting our return, as Tammy was the only angel that she had ever met who walked amongst humans. This statement brought tears to all of our eyes, not because we knew of the possibilities ahead, but because it was true. Carl Jung said, "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." Therein lies Tammy's angelic nature. For everyone she met, there was a transformation for the better by both parties. Tammy is survived by her beloved husband Heath and son Brycen. Also surviving are her parents, Gary and Edna Hubbell of Elk Rapids, MI, her brother, Ken (Holly) Hubbell and children MacKenzie & Brenden of Grand Rapids, MI, father and mother-in-law, Randy and Jan Papp of Bellaire, MI, brother-in-law, Rick (Kathi) Papp of Yucca Valley, CA. Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold & Geraldine Deidrich of Detroit and Ivan and Evelyn Hubbell of Elk Rapids and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Elk Rapids, Michigan on Saturday, March 22, 2008 with Rev. Dr. Daniel Herlein officiating. Family will be at the church an hour before services to receive friends who wish to express their condolences. A memorial service will also be held at a later date in Palm Desert, CA.
