TENNYSON "T.E." EDGAR HOWARD FLOYD- Tennyson (T.E.) Edgar Howard, 82, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Blacksburg, VA on September 6, 1928. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Howard Doss, and stepfather, Park Doss. During his working years, he worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Salisbury, NC and retired from Holiday Ford in Blacksburg. Mr. Howard was an extremely hard worker and enjoyed helping others. He was also a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Shirley Linkous Howard; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Allen Willard all of Floyd; three grandchildren, Rusty Moore, Nicholas Willard and Ashley Willard; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his loving and devoted dog, Ginger. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in the Stroke Unit on 12 West for their care during Mr. Howard's illness. Funeral service was conducted Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Hawkins officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Carilion Foundation, Attn: 12 West Stroke Unit, P.O, Box 13367, Roanoke, VA 24033. The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
