Terence 'Terry' Paul Meulemans, 49, of Round Lake, Ill., died unexpectedly Monday, June 20, 2005. He was born in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., on June 12, 1956 to Thomas Phillip and Kathryn Mary (Saxton) Meulemans. The family lived in the neighboring town of Claremont, Minn., at the time. During Terry's early years, he lived in Claremont, Harmony, Rochester and Red Wing, Minn., before moving to Duluth in April of 1971. He enjoyed his job as 'ball boy' for his dad's high school basketball teams when he dad was coaching, and while in Red Wing he spent many weekends camping and fishing on the Mississippi River. Terry graduated from Duluth East High School with highest honors in 1975. He was a Hunt Scholar and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota, Duluth in March 1979 with a degree in accounting. In 1979 he became employed in the Twin Cities by The Pillsbury Company and later worked in various financial positions for Jostens, Deloit, Haskins and Sells and Waldorf Paper Company. In 1990 he relocated to Mundelein, Ill., as Chief Financial Officer of Olympic Packaging and most recently was Director of Acquisitions for Tenneco Corporation. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, photography, writing, tech 'gadgets' and had an appreciation for the theatre arts. 'T' was an avid sports fan always cheering for the Minnesota Twins and Green Bay Packers regardless of where he lived. His poetry scrapbooks reflect on his life and the world happenings of the 1960's and 1970's and will always be treasured. He is survived by parents, Thomas P. and Kathryn M. of Duluth; wife, Cheryl of Round Lake; daughter, Ashley Jo; and son, Mark Thomas of Mundelein; sisters, Kathy (Stephen) Gitto of Brooklyn Park and Mary (Gary) Moline of Duluth; brothers, Thomas (Laurie) of Quincy, Ill., and James (Lesley Kratz) of Gilbert, Ariz.; stepdaughters, Angela (Clinton) Fouts of Clear Lake, Iowa and Amy (Adam) Mollman of Billings, Mont.; stepson, Brad Wire of Woodbury; step granddaughters, Hannah and Jyrzie of Billings; Ashley and Mark's mother, Patricia Szczepaniak of Mundelein; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL:was held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 in St. Gilbert's Catholic Church in Grayslake, Ill. Arrangements were by Strang Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held later this summer at Clayfield Cemetery in Ellsworth, Wis., the site of the Saxton family cemetery. Terry's parents, sisters and brothers request that memorials be to the Perpetual Care Fund of the Clayfield Cemetery. Memorials may be sent in the care of Terry's parents at 6602 Natchez St., Duluth, MN 55807.
