Teresa Lopez Carrillo, born on September 30, 1925, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Stockton, California, at the age of 99. A devout Catholic and beloved matriarch, Teresa's long life was marked by deep faith, enduring love for her family, and a passion for preserving beauty through her cherished hobbies.

Teresa was the daughter of Hilario Lopez and Maria Chaparro Lopez. She grew up alongside her siblings Juan Lopez, Santos Lopez, Elisa Lopez, and Frank Lopez. Throughout her life, Teresa remained close to her roots and carried forward the values instilled in her from an early age-faithfulness, resilience, and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Eusebio Carrillo; her children Henry Obeso and Mary Boyer; and their father Micheal Obeso. Teresa also mourned the loss of several grandchildren: Benjamin Lopez, Christopher Lopez, Santos Boyer, and Laura Hernandez. Despite these profound losses, she continued to be a source of strength and unity for those around her.

Teresa is survived by her daughter Christine Donez (Belen), and her brother Frank Lopez (Margaret). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Henry Obeso, William Obeso, Micheal Obeso, Stephanie Melena, Maria Munoz, Bernadette Reyna, John Lopez, Esperanza Rivera, Kenneth Boyer Jr., and Christopher Boyer. She was also blessed with 33 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren-each a testament to the enduring bonds she nurtured across generations.

A woman of deep spiritual conviction, Teresa was a faithful member of St. John Vianney Church. She attended weekly Mass without fail and received Holy Communion every Sunday. Her evenings were often spent praying the Rosary-a ritual she held dear as she lifted others in prayer daily. Her unwavering devotion provided comfort not only to herself but also to those who knew they were remembered in her prayers.

Beyond her spiritual life, Teresa found joy in simple yet meaningful pursuits. She had a special love for collecting dolls and antiques-treasures that reflected both nostalgia and artistry. Her hands were rarely idle; she lovingly crocheted baby blankets that became keepsakes for many in her family. Most of all, she cherished time spent with friends and family-moments filled with laughter, stories from years past, and shared meals that brought everyone together.

Services honoring Teresa's life will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. A viewing will take place from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Chapel of Flowers Funeral Home located at 900 S. Second Street in San Jose, California. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 2650 Madden Ave in San Jose at 2:00 PM.

As we say goodbye to Teresa Lopez Carrillo-a woman whose life spanned nearly a century-we remember a soul who lived with grace and purpose. May their memory bring comfort to those who knew them and continue to inspire generations to come.
