Terri Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 12, 2024.
Terri Lynn Jones, age 71, of Lytle, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2024. She was born on January 7, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jimmie and Lawrence Bronocco. Terri was the beloved wife of David Jones and a loving mother to Kimberly Rakowitz and Ashley Ratliff. She was also a proud grandmother to Ivyetta Ratliff.

Terri was a generous, hardworking, and kind individual who dedicated her life to helping others. She was the co-founder of WINGS (Women Involved in Nurturing, Giving, and Sharing), a non-profit organization aimed at providing top-quality breast cancer treatment to uninsured and underinsured women and men in San Antonio, Bexar County, and other areas of Central and South Texas. Terri served as the vice president and executive director of WINGS, making a significant impact on the lives of many.

Prior to her work with WINGS, Terri held various positions in the field of cancer research and treatment. She was the director of business communications at the South Texas Cancer Institute (STCI) and the director of corporate contributions at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC). Terri's dedication to her work stemmed from her personal experience as a cancer and bone marrow transplant survivor. She shared her unique perspective through extensive lectures and writings.

The awards and honors received by Terri Jones throughout her career are:
- The Oprah Winfrey "Use Your Life Award"
- Macy's "Heart and Soul Award"
- Named "Headliner of the Year" by Women in Communications
- Numerous community service awards

Terri's passion for helping others extended to her personal life as well. She was an active member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith. In her free time, Terri enjoyed cooking, reading, trivia, and traveling with her beloved husband, David Jones.

A visitation will be held at The Angelus Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 5:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The graveside service will take place on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to WINGS in honor of Terri's memory. Contributions can be made directly to the organization at www.texaswings.org.

The Angelus Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

I would like to start off by saying that it was a great pleasure getting to know Mrs. Jones here at her internal medicine doctor's office. Every time she entered the office she was not afraid to let me know how she was feeling that day. The relationship we built was not just patient to Medical Assistant, she felt like a friend. It brings great sadness to my heart knowing she is no longer here I will definitely cherish the conversation's we had and hearing in the background when Mr. Jones would call me for something. My deepest condolences to the entire family.
