In Loving Memory of Dr. Terry Dean Casey

August 28, 1959 - April 14, 2025

Terry Dean Casey was born on August 28, 1959, in Conroe, Texas, to Bobbie Jean and Clyde Bea Casey. On September 30, 1977, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Connie Lynne Sowders. Together, they shared 47 beautiful years of marriage, a life built on love, faith, and family. Terry passed from this life into eternity on April 14, 2025, at the age of 65.

A proud graduate of New Caney High School, Class of 1977, Terry pursued a lifelong love of learning. He earned multiple degrees in Theology and Counseling, ultimately receiving his Doctorate in Ministry. For nearly 44 years, Terry faithfully served as a minister - preaching in Texas for 29 years and then continuing his ministry in Florida for the last 14 years. He touched countless lives with his sermons, his counsel, and his unwavering example of godly living.

Terry had many passions. Each fall, he looked forward to his hunting trips to Arkansas to spend time with his brother - a tradition he cherished. He loved football, whether he was playing, watching, or talking about it. The outdoors brought him great joy; he saw God's majesty in the woods, among the trees, and in every part of His creation. He loved flying - he had his pilot's license and took great pride in refurbishing several planes over the years. He was also known for his incredible BBQ - if you needed a brisket smoked just right, Terry was your guy. He adored his dog Clyde, the biggest lapdog you'd ever meet, who brought him endless comfort and smiles.

But above all, Terry loved the Lord, the Church, and his family. He held his family in the highest regard, and his friendships were counted as true blessings. He often reminded us that the greatest gift you can give your family is the assurance of your salvation - the peace of knowing exactly where you are when you leave this life. He didn't just say it - he lived it. Thank you for that gift, Dad. We will carry it with us always. "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Casey, of 47 years and 6.5 months; his daughters, Kristi Morton and Theresa Aldred, and son-in-law Jess Aldred; and his eight grandchildren: Jakob Casey, Joshua Casey-Aldred, Ellie Lovoll and her husband Lars Lovoll, Jessica Morton, Travis Morton, Samuel Casey, and Jonah Casey-Aldred, and his great-grandbaby Emi Lovoll. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Debbie Casey; his mother-in-law, Nell Sowders; his sister-in-law, Alice Presswood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Casey; his grandson, Noah Casey; his parents, Clyde and Bobbie Casey; and his sister, Stella Neuse.

Terry's legacy of faith, family, and joy lives on in each of us who knew and loved him. We will miss him more than words can say - but we find comfort in knowing that he is now home, in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly.

Dear Connie and family,

Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. My heart aches for you and our church family as we go on in this life without our beloved Mr. Casey.

It is a comfort to know he is in a better place now, yet sad to think of our Worship Service and Bible Study without him. I will always remember Mr. Casey as a kind-hearted man having so much love for his family and our Lord and Savior. It was apparent Mr. Casey loved life and cared about everyone. His joyful smile was contagious and could lift your spirits from across the room. He was passionate for the word of God and his sermons were always edifying. He had a gift for speaking and he taught us without lecturing. He was an amazing man and an extraordinary Minister.

I was blessed when I met Mr. Casey in 2012. If I could speak to him just one more time I would say "Thank you". Thank you for baptizing three of the most important people in my life. Thank you for baptizing me. Thank you for showing everyone who knew you that it is possible to be Christ-like in this world will live in. Thank you for all the sermons you gave us, the wisdom you shared with us, and the joy you brought us. You were one of a kind and I miss you.

You will forever be in my heart, Nancy Russo, a/k/a Tammy

We would have never endured the darkest time of our lives if not for Terry. I truly believe God put him in our life for that very reason. Thank you Terry for walking the valley of death with us. I pray you are holding Savannah again. You are both "safe in the arms of Jesus". All my love and prayers to all of Terry's family and friends. A great man has his reward.

Terry was a friend, brother as well as spiritual leader for me. When my mama was deep into dementia, he was so kind to her when she asked him to perform her wedding. Of course she wasn´t really getting married. I loved Terry and love all his family. Precious memories of this Christian family.
