Mr. Terry Donald Knight, age 68, of Cartersville, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016, in Cartersville Medical Center.
Mr. Knight was born in Floyd County on August 31, 1948, son of the late Alto Knight and the late Mary Lou Samples Knight. He was a graduate of Armuchee High School and prior to ill health, was an automobile broker. He had been a member of the Georgia National Guard, was a member of the Oostanaula Lodge # 113 F. & A. M., and was a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple of Atlanta.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Tracey Long, and her husband, Barry, Rome, and Donna Robertson, and her husband, Tommy, Cartersville; a brother, Jerry Ronald Knight, and his wife, Pat, Cartersville; 9 grandchildren, Kara Long, Kylie Long, Austin Long, Griffin Goss, Lacey Goss, Abby Goss, Ally Robertson, Jack Robertson, and Maggie Robertson; 2 great-grandchildren, Zaylin McAnelly and Cooper Long; 2 step-daughters, Alicia Shurley, and her husband, Brandon, Rome, and Alana Cobb, and her husband Matt, Auburn, AL; 5 step grandchildren, Will Terry, Brier Lanier, Bowen Shurley, Alli Cobb and Emma Cobb; his companion, Sylvia Lanier, Rome; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel with the Rev. J. Clinton Green officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery in Calhoun. The Rev Gary Hibberts will have charge of the graveside service.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel on Sunday from 12 noon until time for the service. At other hours, the family may be contacted at their respective residences.
All pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel at 1:30pm on Sunday and are as follows: Active: Ron and Chad Knight, Griffin Goss, Austin Long, Zach Knight, Tommy Robertson, Barry Long, and Brandon Shurley; Honorary, Ron Patton, Lester Pyle, Aubrey Hudson, Ben Dunaway, Danny Smith, Maurice (Moe) Lowe, Bradley Robinson, Stanley Robertson and Matt Cobb.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.

Terry was a wonderful person who we were blessed to know. We have many fond memories spending time with him when we lived in Georgia as well as happy holidays spent together. Prayers for his family and friends as they as cope with his loss.
