Terry Van Emst Obituary
On July 20,2025, Terry Michael Van Emst, of Phoenix Arizona, was blessed to meet his Savior. While he was sad to leave those he loved, he was looking forward to being reunited with so many that had gone before.
Born on January 11, 1961, in Grand Rapids, MI, Terry spent his early years in Fremont Michigan. At the age of 11 his family moved to Phoenix where Terry graduated from Phoenix Christian Grade School and Camelback High School.
Terry loved sports, camping, being a business owner, and anything that allowed him to interact with people. Few could tell a story as well as he, and his personality was infectious.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Evelyn Van Emst. He is survived by his children Elise (Chris) Renning, Tiffany Van Emst, Stephanie Van Emst, Sheala Van Emst, Scott Redstrom, and Shanna Straight; grand children Blake Renning, Conner Reed, Cylee Reed, and Gwen Michael Kelly; and siblings Holly Vredevoogd (Mike) and Alex Van Emst.
A private family memorial will be held in the fall. Charitable donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous World Services or an adoption agency of your choosing.
