Thelma Goldberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 29, 2025.
Thelma Goldberg (née Salkind), age 103, formerly of Wallingford, PA and Margate, NJ passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. Born on June 15, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Thelma lived a remarkable life that spanned more than a century and touched countless hearts along the way.

Thelma was known for her vibrant spirit and infectious sense of humor. Her outgoing personality brought warmth and laughter to every room she entered. A gifted storyteller with a flair for jokes, she had a unique ability to connect with people of all ages. Like the beloved theme from "Cheers," everyone truly knew her name-and they were better for it.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Goldberg and shared many cherished years with him. Together they built a loving family that continues to honor her legacy. Thelma is survived by her devoted sons Marvin (Sandy) Goldberg and Robert (Jan) Goldberg. She was a proud grandmother to Jason (Brittany) Goldberg, Craig (Lisa) Goldberg, Leigh (Adam Balest) Goldberg, Andrew (Jaime) Goldberg, and Adam (Natalie) Goldberg. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Cleo Fox, Jett Joseph, Archie James, Ryder, Hannah, and Sophie. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held her dear.

Thelma was predeceased by her brother Leon Salkind and sister Edith Chernicoff.

A graveside service honoring Thelma's life will be held August 15, 2025 at Ohev Shalom Cemetary, 320 East Brookhaven Road, Brookhaven, PA at 10:00 AM. Lunch will be served following the service at Ohev Shalom Synagogue 2 Chester Road, Wallingford, PA 19086.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to Ohev Shalom Synagogue in Thelma's memory.
