Rev. Theodore (Ted) Brouwer

Theodore (Ted) L Brouwer, age 86, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2019. He was a member of Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church. We thank the Lord for his godly life, his faithful service in the ministry, and especially for his faithfulness to his family. He served churches in Sibley IA, Dayton OH, Prairie City IA, Borculo MI, Delavan WI, Three Rivers MI He was a graduate of Calvin College and Calvin Seminary. He served on the Calvin College and Seminary Board of Trustees. He was preceded by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lucille; and brother, Rev Peter Brouwer. He is survived by his children, Rev Dan and Mary Brouwer of Comstock, MI, Laura and Mike Boot of Elmhurst, Il, Rosalie and Doug Hossink of Byron Center, MI.; eight grand-children, Neil and Amy Brouwer , Russell and Sarah Brouwer, Annaliese Boot and fiancée Jonathan Loo, Nathan and Libby Boot, Jenny and Yug Gill, Julie and Ben Marsman, Kathy and Mike Dozeman, David Hossink; Seven great grandchildren; Siblings, Mariann and Don Alsum of Winnona, MN, William and Renee Brouwer of Oak Lawn, IL; Sister-in-law, Phyllis Brouwer of Minneapolis, MN. Many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland with Rev. James H. Scholten officiating. Burial will be in West Drenthe Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Calvin Seminary or Faith Hospice.
