Theresa Ann Thomas

Theresa A. Thomas, age 80, of Litchfield, died at her home, on Tuesday, December 11, 2007.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Church of St. Philip with Father Joseph Steinbeisser as celebrant.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 16th at the church with a parish prayer service at 3:00 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday with CCW Rosary at 9:45 AM.  Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  

Theresa Ann Thomas, the daughter of Benedict and Elizabeth (Oachs) Johanneck was born on September 11, 1927 in Beardsley, MN.   She received her education graduating from Litchfield High School in 1946.  On March 1, 1952 she was united in marriage to Clyde Thomas in Denver, Colorado.  Together, while Clyde was in the military they lived in Okinawa, Germany, France, Massachusetts, Texas, Panama and has lived in Litchfield since 1965.  She was employed at the phone company, Fingerhut in Litchfield  and as a Tupperware sales representative and a home caregiver to many families.  She was a member of the Church of St. Philip, Catholic Council of Women and Catholic Aid. Theresa was a Lay Communion Minister at church as well as a homebound church service and communion minister to the residents at Emmanuel Home, sewed all the church baptismal gowns for the newborn, was a co-chairperson for the funeral lunch committee.  Theresa enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, crocheting, flowers and gardening.   She also enjoyed animals.  Pet sitting for many families, she especially enjoyed family pets Lucky, Leila, Basko and Blazer.

Theresa is survived by her children Susan (and Doug) Blomker of Minneapolis, MN, Cathy Lee (and Greg Duclos) of Anoka, MN, Paul Gregory (and Debbie) Thomas of Buffalo, MN and Mary Beth (and James) Bronkema of Nisswa, MN, 7 grandchildren Nicole Blomker and Sarah Blomker, Gavin Lee, Candice Lamphier, Brandon Lee, Angie Jo Klata and Camille Thomas, 6 great grandchildren John and Jayden Jones, Corvin, Morgen and Peyton Lamphier and Savannah Klata, step-grandson James Bronkema II, brothers Alphonsus ?Bud? Johanneck of Litchfield, MN, Richard (and Karla) Johanneck of Litchfield, MN, Bill (and Nancy) Johanneck of Phoenix, AZ, sister Rose Marie (and Bill) Reynolds of Paoli, PA and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde and infant brother Peter Johanneck.
