I remember Hong when he came to visit my parents after World War II. He stayed one night at the house on Upshur Street, Washington, DC. He was such a warm and personal half-brother who came to visit my mother several years ago before she died on May 9, 2013.

Kenneth, Lin and Eng Family, Thank you for preserving this beautiful story of your father's grit and determination. Mr. Eng's miraculous journey is one to which many of the early Toishan American immigrant families can relate, and it is wonderfully told (kudos to the writer). Praise be to God for protecting and blessing our fathers and mothers in their sacrifices and resolve, even when they didn't know Him. May your dad's legacy speak of his amazing achievements today at the memorial, and may God's glory shine through and to all. Blessings & love, Bob & Mary Eng
