I´m an 85 year old man, and attended Central Park grade school, Omaha in the 40´s. Tom was our Phys. Ed instructor. I was (and still am) handicapped, and was shy and embarrassed, because I couldn´t compete with the other boys. Tom showed immediate compassion for my limitations, and took me under his wing. He showed me how important it is to be kind and understanding to others. He was, and always will be, my Hero! R.I.P., Tom.

My condolences to Dorothy and family. I had the pleasure of knowing this beautiful marriage. Tom and Dorothy's love for each other was like no other. They always held hands, sang love songs to each other as they looked deeply into their eyes. They did everything together. Tom loved and adored Dorothy as well as all of his family and friends. I would always see him writing birthday cards Christmas cards to everyone. He knew the importance of letting people know he cared and appreciated them. He always made it a point to let people know what a great job they did!!!
Tom was very athletic, smart and just great at everything he did !!! Tom you are missed greatly by the employees of Brighton Gardens now known as Astoria senior living... Your bowling buddies miss you... We all miss you
Love Jazmin

I am so saddened to see that Tom passed away. I was a CNA at Methodist Hospital and Tom was my patient. We would talk about Husker football. He was so wonderful. One Christmas there was a knock at my door and it was Tom Jr. bringing me a Christmas gift from Tom and Dorothy. It was a Husker Christmas ornament and I still hang it on my tree every year. I think about Tom and Dorothy often. May peace be with the family and know that meeting Tom and Dorothy has always been special to me.

My sincere condolences and sympathy to son Tom and all family members for your loss of one of the greatest individuals I have ever known! He was a fantastic leader of the Omaha Public Schools Board of Athletic Directors and responsible for the development, organization and success of the many extracurricular activities that the great number of OPS students have enjoyed and continue to enjoy because of his vision and organizational abilities to get projects completed. Personally, Dr. Tom was my mentor during my years on staff at Northwest High School and I simply "owe him alot"! He will be greatly missed! Goodby Dr. Tom and R.I.P.!
