Thomas Krepps Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2012.
KREPPS, THOMAS W. Ravenna Thomas W. Krepps, aged 95 of Ravenna, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Mercy General Health Partners. Thomas was born on September 16, 1917 in Muskegon, the son of William and Frances (Dunnebecke) Krepps. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and served his country with the U.S. Army following World War II. On August 30, 1941, he married Genevieve Swanson in Muskegon, and they have celebrated 71 blessed years together. Thomas operated a dairy farm with his wife for many years, and enjoyed raising and caring for his cows and dogs, and loved being outdoors. He took pride in gardening, and grew beautiful gladiola's and zinnia's every year for Genevieve. He was a life member of the Elks, a member of the Ravenna Lions Club, and formerly served his community as president of the Ravenna Public School Board of Education. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Pistons fan, especially during their winning seasons; but his greatest joy was always found in the presence of his grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to spoil them. Thomas will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Genevieve; his sons Michael (Connie) Krepps and Charles (Barbara) Krepps all of Ravenna, and Clyde (Penny) Krepps of Muskegon; his grandchildren Machelle (Tim) Haan, Eric (Kristi) Krepps, Katherine Krepps, and Cory Krepps; his precious great-grandchildren Chelsea and Brooke Haan, and Ryley Krepps; his brothers George and James Krepps; and his sister Verona Weick. Graveside services were held for Thomas on Saturday, September 22 at the Ravenna Cemetery with honor rites performed by the Sherman Moore American Legion Post 297 of Ravenna. Those who wish to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Sherman Moore American Legion Post 297 Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are being cared for by the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna. www.throopfhravenna.com
