KINGSPORT – Thomas McKinney Jr., age 66, departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, following a tragic accident.
Mr. McKinney had been an attorney in Kingsport for over 41 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas McKinney Sr. and Anna Mae Peck McKinney; one sister, Bonnie Wilkerson; and a nephew, David Wilkerson.
He is survived by his loving companion, Sarah G. Villar of Kingsport; one daughter, Angela Rae Ginsberg and husband Maury of South Orange, N.J.; two sons, John Edward McKinney and wife Nooshin of Atlanta and Harold Lee McKinney of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two grandchildren, Nicholas Dylan McKinney and Brandon Austin; one sister, Betty Jean Bryson and husband Harvey of Bowling Green, Ky.; three brothers, Charles McKinney and wife Sharon of Bowling Green, Harry McKinney and wife Lee Ann of Santa Yenez, Calif., and Simeon McKinney and wife Connie of Seattle; six nieces, Debbie Bryson, Tammy Bryson, Laura Bryson, Brenda McKinney, Tara Lynn McKinney and Mary Ann Wilkerson; four nephews, Robert Wilkerson, Tommy Wilkerson, Matthew Thomas McKinney and Chuck McKinney; and many friends.
The McKinney family would like to give a special thank you to the ICU staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital and for the support of friends.
The family will receive friends at Oak Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m., with Pastor Doug Tweed officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
