It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Noonan, a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, on March 14, 2023.

Tom was born on August 23, 1946, to John and Mary Noonan, and grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire.

He was the beloved husband of Shannon Noonan. He is survived by his son Sean Noonan of Manchester, NH, his son Ryan Noonan and wife Heather of Bedford, NH, as well as his stepdaughter Heather Sage and husband Jeff of Merrimack, NH, and stepson Jay Jorgensen of Chester, NH. He is also survived by his sisters, Ginny Clayton of Manchester, NH and Rosemary Noonan of Burlington, VT. He was the loving grandfather of three grandchildren, Jack and Molly Noonan and Adam McDannell.

Tom lived a life full of purpose and dedication to his family and country. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to his loved ones.

After graduating from Bishop Bradley High School (Trinity) in 1964, he attended St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish Nova Scotia, and joined the armed forces thereafter. Tom was a proud Marine and served his country with distinction through various assignments.

Following his military service, Tom began working at Anheuser Busch and was later elected as a Teamsters Business Agent by his peers for Local 633. He went on to represent numerous members with dignity until his retirement in 2014.

Tom was also a dedicated public servant for the city of Manchester and proudly served as a Manchester Police Commissioner for 21 years.

Over the years, Tom developed a passion for running and went on to complete 17 marathons, a testament to his discipline and perseverance. The Boston Marathon was always his personal favorite, of which he ran 10 of them, yet was never crowned the winner.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through the love and memories he shared with his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 19th from 3-6:00pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St, Manchester, NH. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 20th from 11-11:45am in the funeral home chapel. The committal service will be private at a later date.
