I knew Tom at Concordia when it was on the edge of I-35. Many times I attended basketball games at Woltman Gym, and what a pleasure to talk to him before tip-off. Rest in peace, Coach!!

Deepest sympathies to the Orton family. I always appreciated the Sunday evening meals they provided during my time at Concordia

Baseball was one of his loves, after Lois. We enjoyed some of those games with Tom in his retirement and cherish the memories. He had a great sense of humor, a sincere Christian faith, and an athlete's mentality. We miss him, but we know that God has taken another one of His saints home.

Sincere condolences to Lois and children. It was my pleasure to know Tom during my years at Concordia although we had been classmates at Valpo having some of the same geography profs. His caring attitude toward students and his commitment to Concordia were much appreciated.

Since 1979 when we first met, then the 80's and 90's, we knew him as T.O. This century, just good ol' Tom. We always spoke of students, talked basketball & baseball and their strategies, watched sometimes, and other times played. Each time we met, he asked about my family; these recent 20-some years, about my son. Truly, Tom was a person of faith, knew Jesus and wouldn't mind "tellin' ya" about Him. Good ol' Tom; in Heaven now he Be.
