Thomas Fredrick Roberts

Thomas Fredrick Roberts, 73, of Palm Harbor, Florida, died on August 12, 2025, after a brave, four-year battle with glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Nov. 6, 1951, to Carolyn and Fredrick Roberts, Tom was raised in Pennsylvania.

In 1969, Tom entered the US Naval Academy, graduating with a BS degree in 1973. He immediately was engaged in the Vietnam War, and when prompted, he reflected freely on his experiences there.

From 1973 through 1980, Tom served as an officer in the US Navy. After reentering the private sector, he continued to serve his country in the US Naval Reserves, from which he retired with the rank of Commander in July 1996.

Tom is survived by his longtime partner and caregiver, Junia Anderson, and a host of family and friends.

We want to thank the neuro team at Moffett Cancer Center and the staff of Trinity Regional Rehab Center for the care provided to Tom during his extended illness.

Both the funeral and interment will be at Bay Pines National Veterans Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd. in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Friday, August 22, at 12:30 pm with Pastor Kelly Hicks officiating. Dinner will follow at Countryside Christian Church at 1850 N. McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater, Florida.
