Starkey was my first bunk mate in the Army. We went to basic together, got stationed in Fort Riley together, even got sent to the same company together. I have such great memories with him and his presence had a great impact on me when I was a young Soldier. He is missed greatly.

I just read the other day of Tom's passing. It was such a shock to me.
Tom was in my 7th grade Social Studies class.
I remember his love of sports and his spirited personality.
He was one of my favorite students.
My God Bless his family in this time of sorrow

I was Thomas' last platoon sergeant before he departed the Army. My platoon remembers him always being upbeat and motivated prepared to complete any mission we asked of him. To us all this is a tragic loss and we wish to send our condolences to his family and friends as they deal with this loss.
