Tillie A. Blendy

Tillie Alice Blendy Tillie Alice Blendy, age 91, of Elkton, MD, died on her birthday, Sunday, September 22, 2013. Born in Freeland, PA in 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Bednar. Mrs. Blendy loved being with her family and devoted her life to her children. A very devout Catholic who was dedicated to her faith, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality there. She was an avid reader who enjoyed doing needlepoint, cooking and baking. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blendy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Michael Blendy. Survivors include her children, Michael M. Blendy and wife, Mary., Ramsey, NJ, Nadine M. Whelan and husband, Michael, Earleville, MD, Mary A. DiPaola and husband, Vince, Bowie, MD and Julie A. Blendy Kastner and husband, Klaus, Swarthmore, PA; grandchildren, Michelle Cortez, Jonathan Blendy, Eileen Pack, Joseph and Jessica Whelan, Anna Gemolas, Laura and Anthony DiPaola, Hans and Hannah Kastner, and great grandchildren, Jacob, Nickey, Damian, Alyssa, Audrey, Jeanine and Sofia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton with visitation in the church chapel from 9:30 until 10-45 a.m. Interment will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, 301 Lock Street, Chesapeake City, MD. Flowers are welcome, but if desired, contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921.
