Timothy Dale Allison

Dr. Timothy D. Allison passed away, tragically and unexpectedly, on December 31, 2007 in Durango, Colorado. He had lived in Durango for nearly ten years, where he was well known for his many activities and associations. Timothy's position as an anesthesiologist at Animas Surgical Hospital earned him particularly high respect.

Tim was born in Boulder, Colorado on April 12, 1967 and lived there until graduating from Boulder High in 1985. In high school, he wrestled and lettered in varsity football, was Student Body President, and graduated with scholastic honors. Tim subsequently graduated from the University of California at San Diego in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He spent one year at University College in Dublin Ireland and achieved scholastic honors there as well.

Tim graduated from the University of Indiana Medical School in 1994, followed by four years of residency in Tucson, AZ and at University Hospital in Denver, CO. He began practice as an anesthesiologist in 1998 at Mercy Medical Center, Durango, Colorado.

Tim placed a high value on close personal relationships. His integrity, skill, sense of humor, leadership, and love for adventure earned him respect, admiration, and friendship in his community of Durango and everywhere that he lived and traveled. His intellectual curiosity, athletic pursuits, artistic ability and love of family and friends were outstanding characteristics of this handsome and beloved man. He had a particular talent and passion for renovating historical homes into works of art. Tim also loved his dogs and the outdoors and pursued challenges as a cyclist, backpacker, snowboarder, skier, and water skier.

Timothy is survived by his parents, Gary and Shirley Allison of Louisville, CO; his brother, Brian Allison and wife, Kathryn Zwack and their children Robbie (7) and
Jack (3) of Superior, CO; and his fiancée, Jessica Tambre. A large and extended family of Allisons, Poultons and Tambres, as well as many friends and colleagues, mourn his passing.

A memorial service was held at Hood Mortuary, in Durango, on January 7, 2008,
