Timothy Clarke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 23, 2025.
Timothy Sean Clarke, 61 of Albany California

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, Timothy Sean Clarke after a long battle with cancer. As a dear friend so appropriately put it:

"Timothy Sean Clarke left us on Tuesday June17, 2025 on the 11:56 am northbound train for Terrapin Station. He was listening to Ripple. He loved all of you and felt your love in return."

Tim was born on July 29, 1963 in Boston Mass. He leaves behind many loved ones. Including his father, Steve Clarke, his mother Janet M. Kish, his brothers, Stephen Patrick Clarke, (Elizabeth Biggs), Kevin Graham Clarke, Michael Thomas Clarke, (Katy Huis), his sister Kimberly Gossett and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a very special group of close friends.

Tim lived his adult life in the San Francisco Bay area of California where he was a jack of all trades. Living in California also afforded him opportunities to appear in shows such as Two Broke Girls, Nash Bridges and others.

Tim followed his heart and the Grateful Dead and enjoyed life to the fullest. Tim loved going to concerts; and dancing at his favorite hot spot, Ashkenaz with his friends. He would tell you that he was an interpretive and African dancer. He also enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. He had a wealth of knowledge and a love of music and movies. Tim has shared many colorful stories of his life and antics that will long be treasured.

Family was very important to Tim. He always made it back east, (several times by hitch hiking back and forth across the country), for family events such as holidays, birthdays, graduations, weddings, new babies, funerals and just to visit. In turn Tim was quite the fun and entertaining local tour guide to anyone who visited him on the west coast. One could always expect lots of laughter and good times in Tim's company.

Tim also held his friends near and dear to his heart. He was blessed to have a close group of friends for 30+ years. One couldn't help but love Tim. He was a very kind soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Tim, "May the four winds blow you safely home. Our love will not fade away!"

The family will hold a Celebration of Life in memory of Tim later this summer.

Just heard the sad news. My condolences to the family. Tim was The freest Spirit I ever knew . Keep in mind his spirit is still flying high on the other side. I'll miss him dearly. He was my brother. We had lots of laughs together. I've known him for 40 plus years. I met him in Williamsville NY. I was on sprucewood. He was on teakwood. We lived together in Florida. Florida,Friends will miss him dearly too. This hurts me and my soul that he's no longer with us. I will see him on the other side. So sorry for his family. Love, Michael Crowley.

Tim, when I first met you we were in the wonderful Sylvia Simon Ray's creative writing course at ECC, with our friend Kevin Lamond. Shortly after that it was on The Bus to Never-Ever Land and all over the east coast for the best concerts of our life. Tuesday's at Broadway Joe's for Grateful Dead night (to meet up with our gang, many who have written here). I can only remember seeing you once in the past decade but I know it was at a show. You were a kind and gentle soul and I'm better off for knowing and being in your life. My condolences to your family & loved ones. Our hippie group here in WNY have talked about Tim a lot lately... My sincere condolences to the Clarke Family and Tim's network of special friends (whomever wrote the above obit is correct in saying that "special group of friends"). Definitely a recognition to the man Tim Clarke who I met sometime around 1983 and blessed to have friendship with for all these years Some cross country treks, too few, but so many great memories of Timmy that I keep flashing on. Tim was like a brother to me, shared much insight to his view of the moment and kept his philosophy modest and humble.
I can keep going but I love you my brother Tim Clarke and will see you again some day.
Much respect,
Frank D... Tower

Tim, so many awesome times we shared: playing guitars and singing in my parents´ basement, going to ECC and enjoying concerts. I will always remember the shirt you made for me "I get high on Fibes Drums". Rest in Peace my brother. Until we meet again, .

I was able to spend a night with Tim in San Francisco at Great American Music Hall in April and it was wonderful to run amuck with TC in the City. When he came to Buffalo he loved to harass me because my frig contained only condiments, once when my son left gas station sushi in my frig I was compelled to send him a picture of it. I don't think Tim was impressed by the sushi. The word that comes to mind about Tim is the Grace he defined each day as he lived his life while in the fight of his life. We'll all miss you but you'll never be forgotten, until we meet again...cheers.

A genuinely decent person. The world needs more of his spirit. We were lucky to have known him.

Tim, I'll miss you my brother. I'll always cherish the thought of you telling me I was your first friend you made when you moved to Williamsville. Was happy to have you as a guest last November although it could have been for a better reason. I hope you, Gordy and Poper are dancing like crazy up there. My deepest condolences to your family. I love you brother. I'll see you when I get up there. But I'm hoping that ain't too soon!
