Timothy Costello Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 4 to Dec. 10, 2023.
Timothy Gerard Costello passed away on November 27, 2023, in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Timothy was born on October 24, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to Thomas and Patricia (Carron) Costello. He attended University of Detroit Jesuit High School, and graduated from Marquette University with undergraduate and graduate degrees (JD). For nearly 40 years, Tim was a highly respected labor and employment lawyer, and in 2019 he retired from the firm Ogletree Deakins.

During his time at Marquette, Tim met Deborah Jalovec through her brother, Jim. They were married on June 7, 1980, and raised three sons - Daniel, Matthew, and Jeffrey. Tim loved ice hockey and he shared that passion with his boys, coaching them and traveling across the country for games and tournaments.

Tim was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and loyal friend. He valued honesty and integrity, principles that defined both his professional career and everyday life. He was selfless with his time and advice, and always put others ahead of himself.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; sons Dan, Matt, and Jeff; daughters-in-law Jessica and Kristen; grandchildren Sophia, Theodore, Ava, and Finley; and siblings Thomas, Kevin, Michael, and Mary Pat.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 3, 2024, at Old St. Mary's Church (844 N. Broadway, Milwaukee, WI). A private luncheon will follow at the Wisconsin Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Tim's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Debbie, We are saddened by the sudden loss of Tim. As a colleague and an opponent, Tim practiced with decency and integrity. The world was a better place with Tim in it. We will miss his insight and good humor.

Debbie, words can´t express how sad I am to learn of Tim´s passing. He was such a wonderful person/boss and I had so much respect for him. It was an honor working for Tim. He loved his family deeply and was so very proud of his boys and grandchildren. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Dan, Matt, Jeff and the rest of the family. Rest in peace Tim ... you will never be forgotten.
