Timothy Downing Sr. Obituary
Born in Maryland to Jerry and Eva Downing, Tim retired from the New York Times as a foreman in the pressroom. Tim was proud to work alongside his father, his brother, and his nephews in the pressroom. He proudly served his country in the US Army and in the National Guard. He loved his heritage and his Irish roots in Sneem, County Kerry, Ireland and his Polish roots in Elkridge, Maryland. Tim enjoyed trips with his loving wife and family to Ireland, Italy, Spain, and Florida. There was not a challenge he couldn't conquer be it cooking, woodworking, sewing, fishing, or gardening. He cherished his time with his family on Long Beach Island, NJ, at the family home.
His happiest moments were in the presence of his family just talking, telling stories, and laughing. His pride was always his children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments. He will be missed.
Celebrate Tim's life by donating to the MS Society in his name.

Right wicked sorry. Always loved the downing family. I was lucky growing up with Scott and Timmy and mike j. Always had so much fun on James st. Mr and Mrs Downing are amongst the best people on the planet. Our loss. Heavens gain
