Todd Addison Dewey

Winter Garden, FL - Todd Addison Dewey, 69, of Winter Garden, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 with his loving wife of 20 years, Dawn, by his side. Todd passed away after complications from a stroke.

Todd was born on April 15th, 1951 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Stanley and Mary Ellen (Kuster) Dewey. He graduated from Elmira Free Academy High School in 1969 and began a job as a maintenance mechanic at Anchor Glass in Elmira Heights, NY, where his career spanned 45 years in a variety of positions with the same company. Todd loved fishing, nature, and animals. Together with Dawn, he had a small farm in Catlin NY with as many as 88 animals, barnyard as well as exotic. Todd spent countless hours gardening, and especially enjoyed the sun on his shirtless back. Todd and Dawn relocated to Winter Garden, FL in 2014 to enjoy the year-round sunshine. Todd will always be remembered for how much he loved his family, his quirky sense of humor, work-hard play-hard philosophy, generous nature, and his uncanny resemblance to Sam Elliot!

Besides his wife, Dawn, Todd is survived by two children, Chalet (Jeff) Dewey-Flint of Oswego, NY, and Tanya (Tony) Bernarduci of Henrietta, NY; two stepchildren, Rachael (Richard) Cravens of Winter Garden, FL, and David (Amy) Trimber of Millport, NY; grandchildren Olivia, Vanessa, Audrey, Tyler, Taylee, Joseph, Douglas, Jocelyn, Connor, Trey, Riley, and Reese. Todd is also survived by his sister Amber (Francis) Dickerson-Whitford of Elmira, NY, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will be holding a small gathering on January 10, 2021 at 2pm with a service held at 3pm at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787. Masks will be required, and social distance guidelines will be followed. The family invites you to view the service live at 3pm on Facebook by "liking" Winter Oak Funeral Home & Cremations.

Todd would always call me Mitch. Todd was a good friend we were always partying together playing chest, laughing, joking around. I was introduced to Todd through a friend of ours and we got to know each other and became good friends. I was terrible shocked to find out he had passed away l had no clue. To his wife and his family l'm deeply sorry. He was the best a fine person fun to be around. Knowing Todd this wasn't the end it was just the beginning God will show you the way my friend.

Todd and I grew up together in Elmira. He taught me how to play chess. Many memories created together. I am sorry we did not stay in touch. RIP my friend.

Sorry to read of Todd’s passing. I knew Todd for many years while working at Thatcher/Anchor etc. Always cheerful and always serious about what he was doing. I am thankful that I had him as my friend. My thoughts are with his family at this time..
