Tommy Drummond Obituary

Tommy Wayne Drummond passed away at his home on June 11, 2020 in Camden, AR. He was born November 23, 1932 to the late Jack Drummond and Ruby Benson Drummond of Camden, AR. Tommy was a graduate of Fairview High School and an member of Cullendale First Baptist Church. He went to work for International Paper Company in 1951 and retired after 44 years. After retirement he worked as a gatekeeper at Dierks Lake for 15 years which allowed him to fish daily, play cards, and bean bag toss. During his time at the lake he made friends with many of the campers which has carried on till his death. His passion was fishing and telling jokes to everyone he talked with. Tommy and Shelby married in 1954. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie Drummond Douthit; brother, Terry Drummond; niece, Terrica Rogers.


Tommy is survived by his wife, Shelby Mitchell Drummond of Camden, AR; son, Rance Drummond and wife, Susan of Nashville, AR; daughter, Paula Drummond Inzer and husband, Gary of Hampton, AR; sister, Jackie Drummond Hern of Camden, AR; five grandchildren, Derek Douthit and wife, Christy of Camden, AR, Douglas Inzer and wife, Alicia of Greers Ferry, AR, Dwayne Inzer and wife, Kelli of Hampton, AR, Nicole Drummond Hedstrom and husband, Tanner of Lawerence, KS, Casen Drummond of Nashville, AR; six great- grandchildren, Ethan and Drew Douthit of Camden, AR, Dawson, Grayson, and Sarah of Greer Ferry, AR and Eden Inzer of Hampton, AR; host of nieces and nephews.A special thank you to Dr. Lynn Cleveland and all the staff at Genesis Center of Hot Springs for the special care you gave to Tommy and all the family. Also the staff at Elite Home Health and Lifetouch Hospice for their kindness and compassion.


Memorials may be made to Cullendale First Baptist Church or the Christian Health Center.


Visitation will be 1:30-2:30PM Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Cullendale First Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 2:30PM Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Cullendale First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Wade Totty will officate the service.

So sorry to, belatedly, hear of Tommy's passing. Dennis and I met Tommy and Shelby at Dierks Lake and they invited us for supper--one of the best fish dinners we ever had.
